The Morning After....

My Wuyi SX finally gave after 11 days and a long last night session... or shall I say, I gave up? This morning, I tasted the last overnight steep. The fragrance still attracts my craving, it will go on and on like rose/sweet corn water if I continue.... But I guess Phyll and Sal had enough of this experience : ) Should we try a vintage puerh next... for a full month : P

anyone up for it?

Thank you for the experience, Toki! I ended it on the 11th day, too. The tea-water still had a bit of light, sweet fragrance, as if one is sipping the ghost of a beautifully made art. Maybe we, and not the tea, gave up.

My Yixing pot feels so lucky to have absorbed its essence. I can smell the sweet fragrance inside after it was cleaned and dried.

Thanks for these experience!

I've tried to brew 13 gr of 1996 Da Hong Pao (from Maison des trois thés - Paris) in 12 cl teapot, It was very interesting, but the cold brew phase didn't last more than 2 days...
I may have made too much regular "short" brews (over 20: flash at the beginning and around 15 minutes at the end). So the tea was probably too exhausted before strarting the phase of long steeping for hours...

I'll try again this expérience in the next days...

I've write some words about your detail tasting on my blog (in french)...

By my count I completed 12 days or maybe 11.5 since I started in the evening: A magificent tea. I was struck with remorse after letting it go. I will never be sure if I gave out or the tea gave out.

But, hey, it was a great run. I brewed it in a nearly new pot, so that pot has gotten off to a grand start.

Phyll, thanks for the beautiful description, "the ghost of a beautifully made art." Nothing could better describe the final days of this session. I am so glad I had such great company to share the moments with, and one more huge Thanks to Toki for making it happen! .
